Brazilian centre-half Alex requires a hernia operation, but has put off surgery until after the Cup final and is expected to play alongside skipper John Terry in the heart of Chelsea's defence.
Guus Hiddink, in his final game in charge of the Blues before resuming full-time coaching duties with Russia, will make late checks on the fitness of Portuguese duo Ricardo Carvalho and Deco (both hamstring).
Juliano Belletti has also responded well to treatment after picking up a thigh problem at Sunderland on Sunday but long-term casualties Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira (both knee) are definitely out.
Everton boss David Moyes will have skipper Neville and winger Steven Pienaar available to him.
Both men have been declared fit after sustaining minor hamstring problems in Sunday's final league win at Fulham.
But the Toffees will have to make do without Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe (all knee) and Yakubu (Achilles) for the trip to London.
Moyes is expected to choose between striker Louis Saha and midfielder Jack Rodwell when he completes his line-up.
